About Burn Ban Status
Burn Ban Status answers one question for each county or parish it covers: is there a burn ban today? Each page gives the answer from the state’s official burn ban list, the time that answer was last confirmed, and a link to the state agency so you can check it yourself.
Where the answers come from
- Texas: the Texas A&M Forest Service
- Florida: the Florida Forest Service
- Arkansas: the Arkansas Forestry Division
- Louisiana: the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry
- Oklahoma: the Oklahoma Forestry Services
- Ohio: the statewide seasonal burning rule from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry
- New York: the statewide seasonal burning rule from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation
County and parish officials set most burn bans, and a new order can take time to reach the state’s list. Always check with your county or parish before you burn.
How to read a page
- If a page’s status has not been confirmed in the last 36 hours, the page says so and points to the official source instead of showing an answer.
- This site says only what the official source says. It does not announce a ban or the end of one on its own.
- Pages cover county and parish burn bans only. They do not cover city rules, fire-weather warnings, or restrictions on public land.
This site is not a government website and is not a substitute for checking with your county before you burn.
